Community-Wide Projects
Much of my work involved collaborating with my departments and the community of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. Below are some of my more high-profile projects.
Niner University Elementary at Amay James
I created all the branding for an elementary school in Charlotte, NC that was created as collaboration with UNC Charlotte. I created their logo which was featured on all materials and signage. I designed the mascot “Normie” which was suppose to represent a child derived from UNC Charlotte’s mascot “Norm”. In junction to these, I created all printed handouts, forms, flyers, and any materials affiliated with the school.
APHI (The Academy of Public Health Innovation) Branding
APHI's mission is to develop innovative solutions to address the Charlotte area’s most pressing community health needs and priorities. For this project, I worked with Mecklenburg County Public Health and The University of North Carolina at Charlotte to create the branding for APHI. I pulled from both the UNCC and Mecklenburg Country Public Health branding to develop the new design.
Diversity Projects
A major focus at UNC Charlotte are diversity initiatives, which oftentimes incorporated my work. Below are some of my prominent projects that highlighted inclusion and equity.
Identiversity - Digital Learning Hub | https://www.identiversity.org/
Identiversity is a program created to educate Mecklenburg County, North Carolina about gender and sexual identity. I collaborated with the co-founders and created infographics, web graphics, and presentations that were used to teach hundreds about LGBTQA+ topics.
Engage ME and WE Engage Branding
Both Engage ME and WE Engage are UNC Charlotte Engineering diversity and inclusion programs designed to successfully recruit, retain and graduate multicultural and women students. I oversaw the creation of all branding, promotional material, and web design for both organizations. For these projects, I had to work within the constraints of the UNC Charlotte university-wide branding.
